چکیده
Their experience had shown that the weakest part of the prosthesis was the bone implant interface. Their studies had shown that there were defects in the laminations beneath the collar and beneath the lower part of the stem. They had developed the larger straight stemmed prosthesis. This provided better weight transmission and the large size of the prosthesis filled to a large part the cavity of the upper femur. This reduced the amount of cement filler which was necessary.
